steam is awesome end story.
but this game doesnt need to be addedto their store, you can just add it to the games list and it will show up with the community system

I don't think putting Guild Wars / NCSoft games on Steam is really necessary, however the IQ of some people posting in this thread is like a huge slap across the face.
BUT VALVE DIDNT MAKE GUILD WARS. ALSO, I'M REALLY RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOING STUPID.

50% of my gaming comes from Steam.
Counter Strike: Source was my first PC game. Steam hosts Counter Strike: Source servers.
My other 50% comes from Guild Wars/Console gaming.
I would really like to have Guild Wars implemented to Steam, so I could take to my friends who need help in other games, etc.
So I'm just going to give this thread a: /signed.

Except Valve doesn't make MMOs...?
And did you not read the thread or ever use Steam? Non-Valve games are on Steam, too. I'm 100% sure CoD4, EVE Online, and Audiosurf aren't made by Valve, and they're on Steam.

Thats bullshit, valve isnt taking over anything, all game delevopers must contact valve in order to get their games on steam.
The best part is that Valve makes it just a lot easier for small developers to release their game, small delevopers grow if they are succesfull and more developers in the gaming industry is better games and MORE games as well.
On topic, Guild Wars doesnt need steam, just add a shortcut in steam itself and done.

Game titles available on steam like Bioshock don't require steam to launch unless they were purchased through steam, all of us who never bought Guild Wars through steam or from the store or from A.NETs site can use Guild Wars like we always have
Adding Guild Wars to steam would mean more players to Guild Wars...I think most of us keep playing Guild Wars because of friends well we get more friends with steam added
It should be optional, its there if you want to use it and it has built in voice chat, community support etc

Most of you guys should probably learn more about the subject at hand before you talk down about it or say misleading / completely incorrect info about the program.

No, because the OP is talking about adding Guild Wars to the store, not just the "My games" list.
Anyone negative about it probably hasn't used it since launch, when there were some bugs.

Yet another fine example of posting without knowing what you're talking about.
Let's put it this way. If you and your friends ingame decide to hook up and do some PvE or whatever, all of you can simply shift+tab to bring up an overlay, hit up your Steam friends list (assuming you all have each other added), initiate a multi-user chat room, invite all members of the party to the chat room, turn on voice chat and talk away. No server info / IP trading necessary, both voice sensitivity and push-to-talk methods are supported, voice quality has been up'ed in an update a few days ago. This is a great example of the many conveniences you will have if you play Guild Wars (or any game) with Steam running. It is a very classy program crafted by the geniuses at Valve. It may had a bumpy launch, but at looking at it today, it's a damn fine program to have.
PS I know my post is a big run on, but I'm trying to get the point across.

I have had HL since it was released, and i think Steam is great, as do a lot of people. It was one of the best things to happen to the Half-Life community. There are only a very small number of people who hate it, and those are mostly due to completely unfounded reasons.
Sure, it had its fair share of problems at the beginning, but that was several years ago now and it has been updated numerous times.
Even if Guild Wars was being distributed via Steam, it would not affect anyone in anyway. You could still run it using your current client even without having Steam installed. The only thing Steam would do would be to add another way for people to purchase Guild Wars and another way for people to download the client/updates.
